The ride share service Lyft came to Amarillo over a year ago. They have helped out the people of Texas after the hurricanes. Now they are continuing to help those in need.

Lyft recently partnered with the American Cancer Society for a program called "Road to Recovery". This program helps patients get to their appointments.

Lfyft started this program last fall in Miami and Vegas.  Now they've announced they're expanding to more cities across the country. This is helping a lot of people who need to depend on others to get to their appointments.

If someone would like to use this free service they need to do things a little different then normal. Instead of using the Lyft app as usual, they need to call The American Cancer Society helpline to set it up. The number to call is 1-800-227-2345. Lyft will then cover the cost of the ride.

Make sure to call in advance to set up the ride. It might be hard to set up a last minute ride request.
