A man last night traveling down 6th street on his motorcycle was involved in a head on accident with an Escalade. Michael Hodges, 38, was travelling west in the 3700 block of S.W. Sixth. Michael Hodges was rushed to a local hospital were he later died.

Some of the media outlets are reporting that speed had a factor in the accident.

"Another resource who had passed the accident just minutes after the accident told me they were on their way home and traveled down 6th street when they noticed a bunch of cops as the approached the scene they seen a motorcycle laying in the middle of the street and people crying on the side of the road.

They pulled over to ask what happened a pedestrian said that Michael Hodges was trying to avoid a boy on a bicycle who crossed in front of him and he swerved out of the way to avoid hitting the boy on the bicycle and collided head on with the Escalade."

Regardless of what happened this is a very sad tragic accident!
