There was a crook out hitting numerous cars in Amarillo up until he was arrested yesterday evening.  Amarillo police went out to an auto burglary call yesterday around 7:30p, which ultimately led to an arrest of the suspect in the multiple crimes.

"On Tuesday July 16th at approximately 7:30pm, officers were sent to the 7300 block of Fleming on an Auto Burglary. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim who reported their vehicle had been burglarized. While speaking with this victim an additional victim came forward to report another auto burglary. During the investigations, officers learned of several other auto burglaries that occurred in the area and one witness had obtained a suspect vehicle description and tag number. The suspect information was broadcast to other officers in an attempt to locate. Later in the shift, APD officers located the suspect vehicle in the 1400 block of N Arapahoe. Officers located a suspect and detained him while they conducted their investigation. Officers asked for and received consent to search of the house and car. After receiving consent to search officers located numerous stolen items inside the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and transported to Potter County on 3 charges of Burglary of a Vehicle with 2 or more previous convictions. The suspect is identified as Aaron Michael Morales H/M21.

According to the Texas DPS public information website, Morales has 7 previous convictions for Burg of a Motor Vehicle and 2 convictions of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle with 2 or more convictions."

Sound like he could be the guy!

Just a tip to avoid being a victim of auto burglary, lock your car doors.  Thieves will run down a line of cars checking for unlocked car doors.  If your car door is unlocked, you're easy pickings!
