MrBreakfast.com recently asked 500,000 people to name their favorite breakfast cereal of all time.  Read on for the top 10.  I haven't heard of half of these.

My personal Top 5:

  1. Frosted Flakes
  2. Cap'n Crunch With Crunchberries
  3. Honey Bunches of Oats
  4. Honeycomb
  5. Golden Grahams

Cold cereal was first introduced in 1863 by James Caleb Jackson in Dansville, New York.  It was called "Granula".  You actually had to soak it overnight in order to eat it.

The number of different types of breakfast cereals in the U.S. has grown from 160 (1970) to 340 (1998) to 4,945 (2012).
