Police Investigate New Years Day Shooting At Night Club

Guns and alcohol don't mix, this just solidifies that.  After a night of ringing in 2014, just a few hours after the New Years Eve countdown, a shooting took place at Paradise Club on Filmore in Amarillo.

"At approximately 3:25 am on January 1, 2014, officers were dispatched to the Paradise Club, located at 714 N. Fillmore, on shots fired. While officers were en route, they were provided updates that there was a victim at the scene. Upon arrival, there was a large crowd leaving the establishment. Officers discovered evidence of a shooting, but no victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital by private conveyance. The victim, a black male age 26, received multiple gunshot wounds during an altercation. The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The suspect in the shooting was described as a black male approximately 20 years of age. This incident is still under investigation."
