With today being April Fools day and all, I find this story a little hard to believe.  According to a press release sent out by the Amarillo Zoo, today Sasquatch, or big foot, will be at the Amarillo Zoo.

For years, we have heard stories of people spotting big foot here and there.  For years, this creature has evaded capture, until now.  Or at least that is what the Amarillo Zoo would like for you to believe.  They sent out a press release and all the TV stations have been talking about a 'never before seen exhibit featuring an 8-foot creature the evening of April 1.'

The Zoo's press release said this:

'The discovery location remains a closely guarded secret, but rumor has it that the Sasquatch was discovered somewhere in the Pacific Northwest region of the United states. The origin of Sasquatch has always been clouded in mystery- cultures around the world have described large, apelike creatures that walk upright like a human. The names “Bigfoot” and “Yeti” are synonymous with such creatures. Many believe that this animal may be a descendant of a large primate thought to have gone extinct over 10,000 years ago called Gigantopithecus blacki.'

My immediate reaction was what a hoax!  I mean it is April Fools day. This isn't the first time the Amarillo Zoo has had Big Foot present.  Back in October, for their annual Boo At the Zoo, they had Big Foot in one of the cages.  Of course it wasn't real, but it was funny.

I am 99.9% sure it is a hoax, but the curiosity in me makes me want to head out and check it out anyway.  If you are anything like me and want to go see what all the fuss is about the zoo is opening it's doors for this exhibit tonight at 6pm-8p.  And if it is all balogne like I suspect, there are tons of other cool animals we can check out.  I will have a full report for you tomorrow.  ;)
