My understanding is rallies took place in several cities across the nation yesterday, in Amarillo, at Will Rogers Park behind McDonald's on Amarillo Blvd.  Supporters, some wearing masks, some holding signs with statements about "world peace" and "demoralized cops", all wanting to bring attention to the authority for use of deadly force by Amarillo Police officers.

The rally was in honor of Michael Brown, and many others, like the shooting on Polk St in downtown Amarillo that many found to be an example of police taking their authority way to far.

The big question presented, should officers have the weapons that can kill taken away from them?

Officers have to approach every situation with caution, even a simple traffic stop can turn deadly and put an officer's life in danger.

Can crime be fought and prevented if officers were using substitutes, like plastic bullets and other alternatives?

Hear the phone call I got from an anonymous supporter below...

I can see points made on both sides of the story...so is it the weapon the cop is holding, or the cop that is holding the weapon?
