Snack Pak 4 Kids Looking For Volunteers For Corn Harvest
Snack Pak 4 Kids is gearing up for their 4th Annual 'Aww Shucks' Corn Harvest and they need your help.
For those of you who don't know, Snack Pak 4 Kids is an amazing organization that's only goal is to end childhood hunger. They understand that sometimes school lunch is all kids have to eat, so they made it their mission to send kids home with a backpack full of food for the weekend.
Well, every year they have been blessed to have a plot of land to plant corn. They take this corn and distribute it to schools and community centers around the panhandle. Its another way to make sure kids get nutritious foods to eat.
But they need your help! The big harvest is this Saturday, August 6th and they only have two hours to get all the corn picked. That means they need to fill two trucks with about 50,000 ears of corn in 2 hours!
Snack Pak 4 Kids needs volunteers to help in this harvest. The more volunteers, the faster it will get done. They are looking for at least 250 people to step up and help.
All ages are welcome to come out and help. This will be a great way for kids to see where food comes from and get them involved in giving back to the community.
If you are interested in volunteering, you can register online here.
Volunteers are asked to bring 5 gallon bucket and gloves.
