According to a study by WalletHub, Texas has some of the country's worst conditions for women.

March is Women's History Month, a time to reflect on how far we have come as a country in women's rights. It wasn't that long ago that women weren't allowed to vote, hold a public office, or get paid a similar salary to that of men. And women are still fighting for their rights today.

WalletHub took several different factors to compare how states meet the needs of women. They looked at median earning for female employees, unemployment rates among women, percent of women in poverty, female business owners, high school dropout rates, percent of women who voted in the last election, number of women with insurance, life expectancy at birth, and homicide rates among women.

According to the study, Texas ranked #42 out of the 50 states, with the highest rate of uninsured women in the country.

The study named Louisiana as the worst state for women, having high homicide and poverty rates among women. The best state is Minnesota, with low unemployment, low dropout rates, a high percent of active female voters, high percent of insured women, and high life expectancy.

The map shows that there isn't exactly a particular area of the U.S. with better or worse women's rights, although many Southern states ranked in the bottom half of the list.
