There is nothing more painful than to lose a child.  Especially if the only thing you did was feed him.  Walmart has cleared its shelves of Enfamil Infant Formula due to a 10 month olds death.

On Sunday the parents of 10 month old Avery Cornett were saddened when the infant passed away from a rare bacterial infection.  The infant was rushed to the hospital after appearing lethargic and displaying what his family said were signs of a stomach ache.  His condition was so extreme that he was put on life support.

Avery had been fed Enfamil Newborn powder bought at a Walmart in Lebanon, Missouri.  While the government has not issued a recall, a Walmart spokesperson said they decided to pull the product "out of an abundance of caution."

Christopher Perille, a spokesman for Glenview, Ill.-based Mead Johnson Nutrition said that all of the infant formulas are put through a series of test to make sure they are safe.

A bunch of different things are being tested right now to find the source of the infection.  Walmart has said that once the tests on the formula come back they will put the formula back on the shelves.

Such a tragedy.  Thoughts and prayers go out to Avery's family, especially his parents.
