What’s with Cars being dumped into the Martin Road Lake?
Ok, So I'm new here... But every place has that one spot that's doomed to be a dumping ground for things. Living in Austin, It was Lake Travis. The Lower Colorado River Authority sends scuba divers in to the lake regularly to find all kinds of things. El Paso... well let's just say having hundreds of miles of desert around you makes for convivence when trying to get rid of something. From trash to pets that aren't wanted. which by the way is heartless putting an animal that you think can live in the wild out in the wild. They never make it and there's a special place for folks who do that.
Amarillo on the other hand has Lake Martin... and looking at the TV, A car was found in the lake. A 2008 Honda Accord that had been reported stolen. The lake was lowered and the vehicle was recovered. Clearly this isn't the first time the storm fed lake got some screen time:
This poor truck met what looks like the same fate last February.
Now. I'm no criminal... but let's look at the facts. This is a flood control lake and the city has put some work into improving the lake to help with erosion that was starting to creep the drop offs much closer to the road and help prevent neighborhoods from flooding. With that... it's a man made lake that can be drained. So if you got a car to dump why bother?! Maybe Lake Whitney?
How about this? Maybe don't steal cars in the first place. Just Sayin
