5 Movies That Guys Watch With Their Girls In Hopes Of Getting Lucky

I am a hardcore movie buff. I watch movies all the time. Whether it be on Suddenlink Videos On Demand, Netflix, Redbox, or whatever, I love watching movies.

Now, for those of us who are married, there are some movies that we watch in hopes of getting the wife's 'motor running'. These are the ever-so-famous 'chick flick'. While we are not fans, we know that our ladies, so we make the exception. This exception is not always done out of the 'goodness of our hearts' though. But, it's a nice gesture all the same, right?

Here is a short list of movies that guys endure in hopes that they might get lucky.

#1. Twilight

This movie is by far a female favorite. I know. I believe I actually went and saw all of these movies with my wife. What I love about my wife is that she at least knows that the acting is cheesy and the storyline is a bit out there, but if it makes her happy, then I'm good with it. Just keep one thing in mind, keep your snarky comments to yourself, at least while the movie is playing.

#2. Dirty Dancing

Hey, no-body puts baby in a corner. Right? That is a line that gets a woman's heart beating a bit faster. It's also a line that brings out a chuckle in nearly every man on the planet. Here is a group of 'young' adults that work at a summer getaway that get 'dirty' on the dance floor when the day is over. Probably not something that most guys tune in for, but if you're romancing the lady, it is a home run.

#3. When Harry Met Sally

Everyone is familiar with the orgasm scene from the restaurant. And I mean everyone. This movie has all the goods. Friends who become 'more than friends', then wrestle with the emotions of ending the 'friendzone' relationship. It is actually pretty funny because it stars Billy Crystal back in his funny days. But, let's be serious, there is only one reason why guys watch this show. They hope to turn the tables on their own 'Friendzone' friendship.

#4. Footloose

There is not a single guy on the planet that has ever uttered the phrase "Hey man, wanna rent footloose?". That has never happened. But I guarantee that there are lots of guys who have sat through this movie. Why? Because they have a girl or wife who couldn't wait to see it. Even with the reboot of the classic, I have now found myself sitting on the couch with the wife with a bowl of popcorn watching 'Footloose'. Hey, it's called love, and if you haven't yet, you will one day.

#5. The Notebook

I held off on this one for as long as I could, but it did finally happen. It was not a rental or even something that was brought up. It just happened to come on one day and next thing you know, my wife is sniffling and we are snuggled up on the couch watching 'The Notebook'. I can be honest about this one, I didn't totally hate it. So, shoot me.

For those of you who aren't in relationships, you'll one day see that sometimes you have to compromise. Let's be honest. How many times has she sat through some crappy 80s Steven Segal movie just to make you happy, or sat through a 2 and a half hour Star Trek movie just to make you happy. So, bite the bullet and give her a night watching a 'Chick Flick', it will pay off.
