It's like tragic comedy, just last week I did a post about a drive by shooting in Amarillo and I talked about how it seems like we're getting more ghetto and how everyday I get a new story of that nature or a robbery or something and then some crooks go off and just solidify my thoughts!  Another robbery, this time not a Toot N Totum, but The Game Room, an 8 liner gaming establishment located on Huges, got robbed by 3 male suspects!  Seriously, I ask of you, do you think crime rate is increasing in Amarillo?

The official report came in from the Amarillo Police Dept. this morning and reads as follows.

"On Sunday March 24th at approximately 10:15pm, officers were dispatched to the Game Room (an 8-liner gaming type establishment) at 501-B N. Hughes on an armed robbery. Upon arrival officers spoke with two employees who stated that around 10:15pm someone had buzzed the doorbell to the Game Room. The door is kept locked and when the employees looked out they saw a B/M they thought they recognized as a former patron, so they opened the door and let him in. As they opened the door three male subjects entered the business and immediately demanded money and told all the occupants to get on the floor. At least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun of some type. There were two other customers in the business at the time of the robbery. After everyone was on the floor, one of the employees was moved into a back room where she was forced to open money drawer. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and left in an unknown direction. No one was injured during the robbery. The description of the first male subject is a B/M 19-20, 5’5, 130-140 pounds, with longer “fuzzy” hair wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans. A second suspect is described as B/M in his 20’s, 5”9 tall and slender build wearing a black & white striped long-sleeved shirt, black pants and wearing a black ski mask. There is no description of the third suspect at this time. If you have any information on the identity of the subjects responsible for this robbery contact the Amarillo Police Department or call Crime Stoppers at 374.4400. You can also submit a tip on line at amapolice.org."

As always, I encourage you to contact the Amarillo Crime Stoppers at the number listed above, or submit your tip online, I'll provide a button for that below.  If your tip leads to an arrest you could be looking at some cash for helping out and they keep you anonymous so no worries.  There's a difference between "being a snitch" and "doing the right thing".

And now on to the main bullet point of this whole story.  Amarillo seems to be on the increasing side of crime statistics!  I hate it because I've always said this is a great place to raise a family, and that's what I want to do is raise a family here, but with each passing day a new story seems to come out about a robbery, a missing person, a shooting, and truthfully, it scares the hell out of me.  And consider this, if we're seeing an increase in crime here in Amarillo, what's going on in bigger cities like Dallas or New York or LA or Chicago or Houston?  Is it safe anywhere?  It's pretty crazy when you think about it!

But let's get your opinion on this because I'd really like to know what YOU think!
