The Texas Legislature is giving a hard push, almost like constipation, to outlaw texting while driving through the entire state.

I'm very happy that Texas is working to ban texting while driving, and I hope they keep it at just that and still allow talking while driving.

Amarillo Globe News reports:

When the Texas Legislature is back in session Jan. 8, the lawmakers will make another strong push to outlaw texting while driving in the state.

This became evident Monday, the first day of a two-month bill prefiling period. Several legislators — including former House Speaker Tom Craddick — filed proposals similar to the one Gov. Rick Perry vetoed last year.

So far, more than 25 cities across Texas have already put a ban of some sort in place, including Amarillo, and law-makers agree having the ban state-wide will keep confusion from happening.
