How does cheap lunch sound?  How about doing something awesome for a local police officer?  Well its happening this Wednesday.  The Amarillo Police Department is holding fundraiser for Sgt. Don Moore.

The Amarillo Police often go unnoticed.  They are here to protect and serve, without complaint.  But what happens when one of our local officers gets sick and needs our help?  Well, we step up and buy a hamburger.

Sgt. Don Moore has been serving the Amarillo Police Department for 35 years.  And after all the good he as done, he has been diagnosed with bone cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.  Along with this horrible illness, his family has been hit with all kinds of medical expenses.

His fellow officers have pulled together to try and raise money to help his family and you can too.  This Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to ???  a fundraiser and blood drive will be taking place across the street from the police department.

Plan to have lunch on 3rd and Fillmore.  Hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and a drink are being sold for a $7 donation.  All of the money raised will be given to help out Sgt. Moore's family.  They will also be holding a bake sale with all kinds of desserts for sale.

They have also a bank account set up at the Amarillo National Bank for donations.

The Coffee Memorial Blood center will be out at the location the entire time, so be sure to look for the bloodmobile.  Everyone who donates blood will be given a chance to sign a Tree of Life that will be given to Sgt. Moore and his wife.
