Fight That Started At Amarillo Walmart Ends With 1 Person Dead
Just when you think it's safe to shop at any Amarillo, TX. Walmart, it's not. It's sad that in this day and age, we have to worry about whether or not we're going to be harmed running out to grab a few things somewhere.
We worry about are we in the right neighborhood, the right area, etc. There are places here in Amarillo my wife won't go to simply because it gives her the creeps.
One of those places is the Walmart on Grand St. She said she went in there one time and just got a bad vibe. I don't have any issue with going there, but maybe that's simply because they still carry sports cards. I'm easy like that.
After an incident last night however, I may rethink that. A fight broke out in the parking lot of the Walmart on Grand around 10 pm and that's seemingly where it was going to end. No harm, no foul, no one hurt.
Things took a dramatic turn however just about an hour later. Police responded to a shooting in the 800 block of N. Highland. When police arrived, they found 23 year old Everado Guadalupe Leal with a gunshot wound.
First responders attempted lifesaving measures for Leal, but sadly they were unsuccessful.
Shortly after responding to that call, police received another call about a shooting in the 800 block of N. Apache. That victim had multiple gunshot wounds but was able to be transported to the hospital. The victim is currently in critical condition.
