The first step to overcoming an addiction is admitting that you have a problem.  I, Angel Dee, am addicted to Coca-Cola.  I am currently trying to kick the habit and my withdrawals are brutal.

Now I in no way think that addiction is something to joke about.  I actually take it very serious.  I have know several people who have fought hard core addictions and it isn't easy.  With that being said, I seriously believe that I am addicted to Coca-cola.

I decided that it was time to make some major lifestyle changes.  I'm not getting any younger and if I want to be around to see my son grow up and have a family of his own I need to be healthy.  My biggest problems are cokes and sweets.

If you talk to anyone I know they will tell you that I'd rather eat sweets then actual food.  Dessert first please!  But my addiction to cokes goes a little further than that.  The first thing I do in the morning is pop open a coke for breakfast.  Then throughout the day all I drink is coke.  I love them!  When you open a coke and take that first drink and the acid is so powerful that it makes your eyes winch is the best part. I decided the best thing was to eliminate cokes for a while until I can control the amount.

The first day was the hardest and I caved.  I couldn't take it.  I began to get a horrible headache and even felt like I was gonna die if I didn't get a coke soon.  The next day went about the same, except I made it through without letting the craving get to me.

I am now on my 5th day with out a soda and I am super proud.  It hasn't been easy..  On day two without a soda I felt physically ill.  I was in pain and felt very nauseated.  Day three was a little better but I was being the biggest bitch ever.  Day four was a little easier but the bitchiness was still there.  As for today, I guess we'll see how it goes.

I can honestly say that this is the hardest thing I have ever done!  But I'm five days into it so I am not giving up.  I just hope that my family can put up with me for the next couple weeks as I completely detoxify my body.

Have you ever felt addicted to any kind of food or drink?
