Texas, OU, A&M: The Billion-Dollar College Football Clubs
I'll tell you what, college football is in a weird place these days. Ever since the introduction of the NIL deals, schools have been throwing money around to land top prospects, and the Texas schools are no different.
Now, to be fair, Texas schools never really struggled on the recruiting trail, even the smaller schools outperformed a lot of the mid-major type of programs, but it seems everything in college now is wrapped around money.
What's The Latest Money Driven Thing
Well, it's not anything the schools are involved in, and truthfully, this is all a lot of hypothetical stuff, but it goes to show you just how much money is being talked about and how colleges are being viewed these days.
CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, and now, The Athletic have put out valuations on just the college football programs in the Power Four conferences as if they were pro teams. Valuations tell investors and owners what the team is essentially worth and what it would take to purchase it. Between Texas and Oklahoma, EIGHT teams landed inside the top 70.
Let's take a look at how much each team would be worth and how much money they bring in yearly.
