Dead Body Found In Drainage Culvert On I-40 Has Been Ruled A Homicide
Originally, the dead body found October 16th at the 2100 block of I-40 East was believed to be a death by natural causes. Special Crimes Unit of Amarillo joined the investigation, due to suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and have officially ruled the death of William Pletcher Jr to be a homicide after preliminary autopsy results.
"The preliminary autopsy results revealed Mr. Pletcher’s death was a homicide. Mr. Pletcher had an injury to his upper body that appeared to be caused by accidental means. Mr. Pletcher had other lethal injuries not evident until the autopsy was performed. Based on this information from the pathologist, this case is now classified as a homicide."
The Special Crimes Unit continues investigating, and is asking for anyone with information about Mr. Pletcher’s murder to call (806) 378-9468.
