Amarillo Police are investigating a "motorcycle vs motor vehicle collision" that took place yesterday at approximately 4:28pm.  Douglas Eugene Thompson, age 33 of Amarillo, was operating the Honda CBR 1100 when he struck a Honda Civic.

Justice of Peace Thomas Jones ordered an autopsy to be performed on the motorcycle operator.

Amarillo Police:

"On June 11, 2013 at approximately 4:28 PM, officers were dispatched to a motorcycle vs. motor vehicle collision in the 5300 block of Amarillo Boulevard East. Officers determined that a 1997 Honda CBR 1100 motorcycle had been east bound at a high rate

of speed. A 2007 Honda Civic had been exiting a private drive going northbound to west bound. The motorcycle collided with the vehicle. The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene as a result of injuries received in the crash. Justice of the Peace of the Thomas Jones ordered an autopsy on the motorcycle operator. He was later identified as Douglas Eugene Thompson age 33 of Amarillo. The driver of the Civic, Fowisia Jama Farah, BF, 63 was uninjured the wreck."

The crash is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept.
