If you saw smoke in west Amarillo last night, it wasn't a barbecue, it was a structure fire.  Sunday night, the house at 315 SW Parker caught fire, destroying the house, and giving Amarillo firefighters a battle last night around 8:25.

Thanks to their extensive training, firefighters had the situation under control within 20 minutes and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Thankfully, nobody was home, so there were no injuries.

Major damage was throughout the home, which belongs to Jesse Charles Rivers Jr.

Amarillo Globe News reports the appraisal of the house to be $14,521, and the damage is an estimated $15,000.
