If you are a dog owner and you feed your doggo Hill’s Pet Nutrition, you need to know about a pretty extensive recall regarding a number of the company's canned dog food products. Hill's Pet Nutrition says there are potentially elevated levels of vitamin D. Dogs do need vitamin D but if they eat too much of it in their foods it could lead to health issues like vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling, and weight loss. Hill's says that if you have a dog that has eaten the affected products and are showing signs of vitamin D overdose you should take them to their veterinarian immediately. The good news is that your pup should be fine after you stop feeding them the affected products.

The list of affected canned Hill's Pet Nutrition products is pretty extensive. You can see the complete list by clicking here. The company says you should not feed your pet the affected products and either throw them away or return unopened product to the location where you bought it for a refund. For more information on how to do that, you can call Hill's at 1-800-445-5777.

Hill’s Pet Nutrition says a supplier is to blame for the elevated levels of vitamin D and they will be putting more extensive testing into place in the future to prevent this type of thing from happening again.
