Investigators Look For Amarillo Men Driving Cement Truck Who Attempted To Lure A 6-Year-Old Boy Into Vehicle

The Amarillo police department is looking for a white and gray cement truck that was in the area of the 7300 block of Vail Street yesterday evening around 7:30pm. An unknown man who exited the passenger side of a cement truck made attempts to pick up a 6-year-old boy but failed because another child's scream sent the passenger fleeing away back to the vehicle. A witness gave description of a Hispanic male in work clothes and yellow vest with reflective stripes. Apparently the cement truck stopped in the middle of the street the passenger got out of the vehicle and approached the children, he then "bent down as though he was going to pick up" a 6-year-old boy. The oldest girl started screaming, the man "looked around and then ran back to the truck." Investigators are looking for this person to get more information about the purpose of the man's apparent attempt to contact the children.
