Police Academy Star – Charles “Bubba” Smith

Pretty sad news here. Charles "Bubba" Smith, former NFL star and Police Academy's "Hightower" has been found dead at the age of 66.

Law enforcement officials tell TMZ:

LAPD received a 911 call at 12:54PM today -- and officers responded to his home in the Baldwin Hills area. The fire department also responded and we're told Smith was dead when authorities arrived.

At this point everything is pointing to him dying of natural causes, but we are still awaiting official word from the coroner.

In his life not only did he play an awesome character in 6 of the Police Academy movies, but he had an extensive professional football career. Spending 9 seasons as a defensive end. Playing for the Colts, Raiders and Oilers. He even has a championship ring for Super Bowl V where the Colts took home the trophy.

I watched this guy growing up, and this is a pretty sad moment. If anything, it reminds me that I am mortal, and getting older on top of that lol.
