Not long after Matt Reeves took over directing duties on The Batman, rumors began swirling about Ben Affleck’s potential exit from the DCEU. According to some reports Affleck may not be in Reeves’ film, which Warner Bros. hopes will kickstart a new trilogy on par with Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight. Another report suggested Affleck is leaving the DCEU entirely after Justice League. But what does Affleck have to say about his Bat-future?

Rough day to be Ben Affleck, the kind of day that makes you just wanna get away from it all by sneaking into your car and having a quick sad-vape. His performance as Batman has begun to emerge the fanbase’s most-loathed, and to add insult to injury, he was ousted from the director’s chair on upcoming solo film The Batman. Now, even more insult has been added to that injury, as replacement director Matt Reeves has begun to clean house and get himself comfy in a new franchise.

Since launching the Batman: The Animated Series and New Adventures of Batman action figure lines in 2014, DC Collectibles has been slowly filling out the complete rosters for both shows. For every wave that includes a Batman or Joker, there's another that features Scarface or Man-Bat, and there's no signs of either series stopping any time soon. In all those figures however, it's been hard to justify additional standard Batman figures. DC Collectibles has found a great way around that by pitting the Dark Knight Detective against his greatest enemy: emotions.

The people cannot get enough Batman. He’s everywhere: he fought Superman, now he’s in the Justice League, soon he’ll return to another solo movie, and he ended up back in the news due to Adam West’s passing — we’re living in the Batman-est of all possible worlds. And those Batmaniacs clamoring for more time with the Caped Crusader before he returns in Justice League on November 17 are in luck, because Bruce Wayne and a couple familiar friends will storm nationwide theaters for a special one-night engagement this summer.

We’ve lost one of comic and TV culture’s most enduring favorites, as original Batman star Adam West has passed away. The smooth-voiced star became iconic for his portrayal of the ‘60s Caped Crusader, earning a place in the pop culture pantheon over the decades.

Who needs Batman when you’ve got the police? Actually, considering current events and the history of police brutality, Batman would be much preferred to (and more fun than) cops. But alas, the Dark Knight must have been on vacation this week because it was the officers in uniform who apprehended the Joker’s real-life doppelganger.
