A month ago, Amarillo was sad to find out that their only water park was being shut down permanently.

A big new water park is coming to the parched deserts of West Texas. And it's opening in Plainview of all places.

Splash Kingdom, formerly known as Splash Amarillo, has been shut down and will not be open for the 2016 summer season.

Last year the City of Canyon approved a $6,00,000 bond for a new city aquatic center.
