Things You Tell Your Guests When They Come to Amarillo

It's fair to say we are pretty much use to the things that make Amarillo, well ummm, Amarillo. We love some things. Other things we are not sure why Amarillo is this way. Either way when we have family and friends visit we need to warn them of a few things.

I mean if we don't give them a heads up we may be considered not a good friend. Some things need a little warning.

How Do You Know You are in Amarillo

Amarillo weather: Yes it's March but we could still get snow. Heck we can have all four season's in one day. Look it up. It's true. We could wake up with a dusting of snow. Oh and then early morning the sun will come out. Don't worry we could still get rain in just a bit. This is just Amarillo.

When it snows the snow is plowed into the center of the road: Seriously it is like we never have to make a left hand turn in our city. So if we get significant snow help us all.

Speaking of Snow: When we get snow, and even if it closes down the city, yes we knew about it days in advance, but we will ALL run to the store the day before and buy up everything. Every single time. Even though we know the weather will be fine in a day. Every time, I tell you.

Whataburger and Taco Villa: Don't you dare say anything bad about either of these places. Really. We love our Whataburger and miss our Taco Villa if we move away.

So when you come to Amarillo or when you have guest, warn them. Come visit even stay for awhile. Just know when you pack you need to pack for every condition. Go eat some great food but just know that Amarillo has a lot to offer.
