United Way of Amarillo And Canyon Kick Off Air Conditioner And Fan Drive

With these crazy temperatures, it has become a chore to stay cool.  The United Way of Amarillo and Canyon want to make sure everyone has a cool place this summer.  They have kicked off their air conditioner and fan drive.

It is no secret that this year we are going to have a hot summer.  We have already seen temps in the high 90's. The United Way of Amarillo and Canyon are striving to make sure everyone who needs and air conditioner has one.

They have kicked off their annual air conditioner and fan drive.  This drive was set up to collect as many fans and air conditioners as they can.  They will then distribute them to the elderly, disabled and families with infants.

Sometimes, something as simple as a fan is a luxury to these families.  Money isn't always available.  The United Way is trying to make sure that everyone can stay cool in these ridiculous temperatures.

Last year they provided about 100 families with fans or air conditioners.  This year, they need your help more than ever.

If you would like to donate, you can bring fans, air conditioners, or money to their office at 200 S. Tyler Street.  They are open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  And if you would like more information just call 806-373-0867.
