3 Year Old Child Dies After Being Struck By Truck & Trailer In Castro County
Another awful story of a life being lost, a life that had only just begun. A 3 year old child was playing in a country road in Castro County, when the unthinkable happened. The child was struck by a pickup truck that was towing a trailer while playing in the road, ultimately taking the child's life.
"A 3-year-old boy died Tuesday night in Castro County after he was struck by a pickup towing a trailer while he was playing on a county road, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers said.
About 5:36 p.m., Lazaro Adrian Macias, of Dimmitt, was playing on Farm-to-Market Road 1524 west of U.S. Highway 385, authorities said. Kevin Dan Bruton of Dimmitt was driving a 2001 Chevy pickup hauling a 2011 Big T Utility Trailer east on the road, troopers said."
The driver attempted to miss the child and swerved into the ditch, the utility trailer being towed is what struck the child according to authorities.
