The City of Amarillo Utilities is working on sewer mains in the area of Oliver Eakle park.  The project will have east bound traffic on 34th Ave from Washington to Jackson fighting over one lane during commuting hours.

"The City of Amarillo Utilities Division is scheduled to begin a project to rehabilitate sanitary sewer mains in the area of Washington and 34th Avenue beginning Monday, March 31, 2014. This work is part of the ongoing project to rehabilitate the sanitary sewer mains in the Oliver-Eakle neighborhood.

During this phase of the project, traffic will be reduced to one lane headed east on 34th Street from Washington Street to Jackson Street.  Motorists are asked to drive carefully through the construction area.

The City and its contractor will work diligently to minimize any adverse effects of this closure to area motorists and residents. All lanes are expected to reopen by Saturday, April 5, 2014.

We would like to thank residents and area motorists in advance for their patience and continued attention to cautious driving during this project."
