Amarillo’s Best Places In Town For A Cheap Meal

Looking for a great place to eat while on a budget can be frustrating at times. In most cases, if you want to get some good food and save money at the same time, you're out of luck. Well, that's not always the case! Here are some of our local restaurants where you can get a delicious meal and still have a little something in your wallet when you're done!

#1. Amarillo's Best Low Cost Meal - Coyote Bluff Cafe

Coyote Bluff Cafe in Amarillo is a staple of Amarillo and has actually been featured on the Travel Channel's show 'Man vs. Food'. The 'Burger From Hell' was the featured item on the show and is pictured above. If you like hot (which I do), then you will love this burger! With jalapeno's, tons of cheese, grilled onions and a habanero sauce grilled to perfection; your mouth will love you for it! I have been eating here for years and have never had a bad meal. Granted the place only sits about 35 people, so you end up waiting a good 30 - 45 minutes to get seated. But, it is totally worth the wait.

#2. Amarillo's Best Low Cost Meal - Arnold's Burger

Arnold's Burger in Amarillo has got to be one of the best burger joints ever! This place has been around since before I was born and has a line out the door every day. For a small little hole in the wall place, it is a burger fanatics dream. Arnold's has great food at an unbelievable price. I mean where else can you get a burger like the one pictured above with fries for under $5.00? Just like any little burger joint the have there quirks. For example they are only open from 9:00am - 5:45pm "Most Of The Time", but I can honestly say they could probably be open all night and stay busy! Great burger and best price in Amarillo.

#3. Amarillo's Best Low Cost Meal - Elbracero

Elbracero is a small Mexican restaurant that has some of the most delicious authentic food in Amarillo. It's not like one of the big restaurant chains where all the food tastes the same as their competitors. No way! This place has a taste all its own. The reviews speak for themselves. With the freshest ingredients and a unique menu, Elbracero has to be my favorite Mexican food in Amarillo. For those of you who like fish tacos, you're in for a treat. The fish tacos at Elbracero are grilled with lime juice and a spicy and tangy sauce, a slice of fresh avocado all wrapped up in a soft corn tortilla. I'm telling you these are the best I have ever had!

#4. Amarillo's Best Low Cost Meal - Feldman's Wrong Way Diner

Feldman's Wrong Way Diner is a great diner with the best chicken fried steak in the panhandle! If you like home cookin', then you can't go wrong at Feldman's. This place has been in the area for years and has earned quite the reputation. I happen to be a true Texan and love any food with "chicken fried" in the title, so I was in my own personal little heaven while eating the monster chicken fried steak at Feldman's. For home cookin', this place makes it happen.

#5. Amarillo's Best Low Cost Meal - Cowboy Gelato

Cowboy Gelato is a newer restaurant in Amarillo, but has some of the most delicious sandwiches and burgers in town! While it specializes in Gelato (Italian Ice Cream) there entire menu is just wonderul. The 'Tuco's Revenge' is a burger stuffed with pepper jack cheese (in side the burger) and spicy habanero sauce grilled on a sour dough bun. WOW! The description does not do this burger justice. Cowboy Gelato is by far one of the best little burger places in Amarillo and has your desert totally covered as well. Don't forget to try the Jalapeno Gelato!

#6. Amarillo's Best Low Cost Meal - Napoli's

Napoli's is without a doubt one place that fits the 'Bill'. This place has great Italian food and it won't leave you in the poor house! Huge Pizzas for under $13.00 and most of their other dishes range between $7.00  to $10.00. Their baked Lobster Ravioli is unbelievable and priced under $11.00. The only problem I have with Napoli's is that every time I eat there, I can't finish my entree because I have eaten so many Garlic Knots! Napoli's is a must try and if you're a fan of Italian food, I can guarantee that you will go back.

#7. Amarillo's Best Low Cost Meal - Wesley's Bean Pot

And last but definitely not least, we have Wesley's Bean Pot. By far the best BBQ in Amarillo (in my opinion).The reviews don't lie. The ribs are fall off the bone delicious and they have a jalapeno sausage that is amazing! I have been there many times and actually pick up ribs and 'hots' for holiday gatherings, which is a huge hit. I have to say, if you have never had a meal at Wesley's Bean Pot, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. It's a little out of the way seeing as it is out North of town in River Road, but well worth the trip!
