Spring break always brings out pure excitement for the kids.

The problem with it is they usually get bored after just a couple days of it.

So how can you keep them busy and entertained? How about checking out the Amarillo Zoo! Aside from the fact that most ALL kids love to see the animals, they've got some really cool and fun stuff planned for the entire week.

It all kicked off today with some lion enrichment, a safari show and a camel keeper chat. The rest of the week has similar types of events planned.

Each weekday at 1pm, they'll feature the safari show. So no matter when you decide to hop in the car to get there, you'll be able to see it. I have no doubt that anything with the word safari in it will be a blast.

At 10am each weekday, they'll do enrichments with different animals. What exactly is enrichment?

Enrichment is a sensory thing, and is different for each animal and there are all sorts of different types of enrichment they can go through.

Tuesday, it'll be the donkeys turn followed by spider monkeys on Wednesday. Thursday brings us the enrichment of the ring-tailed lemur and the week wraps up on Friday with the majestic black bear.

There will be animal encounter sessions throughout the week as well. Wednesday is the day you can interact with miniature horses. Thursday it'll be the African Spurred Tortoise, and Friday you'll be interacting with snakes.

You can see the full list of their events this week on their Facebook page here. Admission is only $4.50 for adults and $2.50 for kids aged 3-12. Under 3 years of age gets in for free.
