Eat Cheap Amarillo – Wednesday Special

You gotta save a buck every chance you get and a great way to do that is by taking advantage of food specials available in restaurants across Amarillo.  Angel Dee has a great post up that gives you details on the best places where kids it free in Amarillo, you can check that out by clicking right here.  But if your not a parent and you still want to eat cheap, then I got your back!

You are most likely tired of the Dollar Menu items that can be found at fast food stops all over the city, so today try something different.

Today, we're eating the Chicken Fried Steak special from Kentucky Fried Chicken.  When it comes to more bang for your buck, this has got it all!

At only $1.99, all day Wednesday's, you get a full meal from KFC.

The meal includes 1 Chicken Fried Steak (gravy optional), then you get your choice of sides, but that's where it gets tricky.  You can either do double mashed potatoes and a biscuit, double coleslaw and a biscuit, or single mashed potatoes and double biscuit, and of course single coleslaw and double biscuit.  If you try to do anything different with the sides, they will charge you for an additional side, so be careful with that!  You can also add a small drink for $1.

It's delicious and even though you get it relatively fast, it doesn't taste like "fast food".
