Oh it’s going to happen again with chicken sandwiches.  Just last year Popeye’s chicken sandwich led to long lines and even fist fights and customers assaulting Popeye’s employees.  It’s a freakin four dollar chicken sandwich people.

Here is what I know from our next door neighbors here on SW 34th. KFC is introducing a new  premium chicken sandwich in their test kitchens. KFC is waning behind the likes of the competitors sandwiches, chains like McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A and the King of not burgers-Popeye’s. Their chicken sandwich was sold out for weeks and is still their number one selling item for months.  Now KFC is going to introduce the “KFC Chicken Sandwich” an extra crispy chicken filet served on a buttered brioche bun and topped with pickles and spicy or classic mayonnaise. It costs $3.99 or a combination meal with fries and a medium drink costs $6.99.

On the KFC website the new version, according to Andrea Zahumensky, KFC's chief marketing officer, "boasts an upgrade of every single component." It includes a chicken filet that's 20% larger. It has thicker pickles and a new type of bun to "hug it in the right way. The new KFC sandwich is expected to hit stores early June nationwide.

BUT if you want a free Spicy Chicken sandwich Wendy’s has you covered on that. Just order on the Wendy’s app through June 7 and you get a free sandwich.  Of course you have to purchase something to get the offer but chances are you were going to anyway.

Personally I’m on my way to Braum’s their Crispy Chicken Club is my jam!
