A Houston waiter stood up for something that was right.  He refused service to a man and his family after the man moved to another booth because he didn't want to be sat near a special needs child and then insulted the child.

This story broke my heart.  It broke my heart that a grown man could be so cruel.  I have met a lot of awesome kids over the year who have downs syndrome and some with special needs and they are the sweetest, kindest, most generous people I know.  I was talking the other day to one of those said friends and he said to me, "I don't know why God had to make me this way."  My response was, "what way?"  He said, "special."  I said, "Honey God didn't make you special, God made you perfect.  You are his creation and your are exactly the way he wanted you.  You are one of a kind.  You are perfect."  He smiled and said, "I am".

So I hope one day that person who made that comment is blessed by one of the awesome kids or even adults with special needs and it changes his outlook on how he treats people.

Good job Michael Garcia, the world needs more people like you.
