How My Stomach Handled the Arby’s Diablo Sandwich in Amarillo

When I read about this new sandwich at Arby's I knew I had to try it. They have a Diablo Brisket Sandwich and a Diablo Chicken Sandwich. I knew I had to try them.

These are supposed to be hot. So hot that they include a free milkshake with the purchase of the sandwich. You are supposed to see how long you can go without taking a sip of the milkshake.

So that is what I am going to do. In fact, I am going to try both sandwiches. The things I do for my job. Right?

What Exactly Makes This Sandwich So Hot?

These Diablo sandwiches have five spicy ingredients.

• ghost pepper jack cheese
• fiery seasoning
• diced jalapenos
• Diablo barbecue sauce, made with four types of peppers
• Diablo bun packed with chipotle pepper flakes

So this sandwich should be one of the hottest things I have ever tried. In fact, I really hope it is. I want my stomach to hurt the next day. In the ad for these sandwiches it does say it comes with a free snack size vanilla shake. It says "Trust us you will need it."

I ordered the sandwiches with only one alteration. I asked them to leave the mayo off. Most places glob way too much on their sandwiches and it's not my favorite anyway.

I brought both sandwiches home along with my two free milkshakes. They asked me at Arby's if I wanted the free milkshakes. Who says no to free milkshakes anyway.

How Did I Handle the Arby's Diablo Sandwiches?

So I was surprised that I liked the chicken sandwich better. I really was. I wanted to like the brisket one more.
