
Mexico’s Notorious Drug Lord “El Chapo” Escapes From Maximum-Security Prison
Mexico's most powerful drug lord is free after escaping a maximum-security in Mexico.
"El Chapo" escaped sometime Saturday night through a hole that was made in the prison's shower. Prison guards discovered a 1,600-yard tunnel dug under his shower cell. The tunnel was so high-tech that it had ventilation and stairs equipped in it with a motorized rail car in it that helped him travel in the tunnel to freedom. As soon as officials noticed he escaped Flights were suspended at the nearby Toluca airport, while a manhunt stretched into surrounding states. This is the second time El Chapo has escaped a maximum-security prison.
