I understand. Having the kids home for any extended time can drive even the greatest of parents a little crazy. The kids in Amarillo are out of school starting today. The Canyon kids have been out all week.

Nothing is worse than looking at your calendar for the month and realizing you need help. You see the kids are out of school for an extended time and you don't have enough vacation time to stay home with them.

Nothing brought me back to my childhood faster that seeing Curious George pop up on my Facebook timeline. I used to read and watch everything Curious George related. I loved that rambunctious monkey.

I get it we don't really care for the creepy crawlers. I know I sure don't. I won't run and shriek at the sight of most bugs. I will be the one that gets rid of the spiders for everyone else. Now that is not to say I am their biggest fans at all.

More Halloween fun for you and your family is back at the Don Harrington Discovery Center. Get your family and grab your Halloween costumes. Make a night of it. We are all ready for this.

I know we have a ton of Harry Potter fans. Raise your hand if you are one of them. I see you over there. Have you seen all the movies? Read the books? Do you have dreams of being a wizard too?

When I go out to dinner with family or friends I tend to order an ice cold beer. Especially in these hot summer months a beer goes down so smooth. I usually stick to a Michelob Ultra because of the calories.

I am curious as to what "tricks" it will be able to perform.

I spent many days when my daughter was growing up out at the Discovery Center. We would make a whole day of it. We would grab lunch and bring it to Medi Park. We would eat and then feed the ducks.

As the last week of school is upon us we look forward to many things. We want to have dinner with our kids while still having to work. We are looking for camps. We are figuring out how they can still learn during their time off. They can learn and still have a lot of fun.

The Don Harrington Discovery Center has announced they will not be holding their annual EXPLODE event, but don't worry, they still have some 4th fun planned for us.

Good news as more and more of Texas reopens. Amarillo's Don Harrington Discovery Center has reopened with new, temporary hours.
