My understanding is rallies took place in several cities across the nation yesterday, in Amarillo, at Will Rogers Park behind McDonald's on Amarillo Blvd.  Supporters, some wearing masks, some holding signs with statements about "world peace" and "demoralized cops", all wanting to bring attention to the authority for use of deadly force by Amarillo Police officers.

In 2011, the Texas Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans applied for a specialty Confederate Flag theme license plate.  The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board rejected the application for the specialty license plate, and the applicants in turn filed a lawsuit.  It lawsuit was dismissed in 2013.  Here in 2014, a federal appeals court has revived the lawsuit.

Have you heard of Jordan's Law?  The law was proposed after the story of Jordan Bleimeyer was released, the 5 year old that was locked in a closet under the stairs, found weighing only 29 pounds.  You would think the proposed Jordan's Law would be a good thing after hearing his story, but citizens see a problem with it, and have started a petition.

The ban on using cell phones while driving was passed about a year ago, but has it really made a difference?  Have motorists really put their cell phones down while driving?  I don't want to say anything to incriminate myself, so for me, I'll say "no comment".  However, I can state that 179 citations have been issued to motorists that have violated the ordinance.  Have you really stopped

A reported kidnapping had police officers sent to the 600 block of north Hayes in Canyon after a female caller reported that the biological father of her 9 month old child had been kidnapped.  The man allegedly broke into her house and stole the baby by ripping the child right out of the mother's arms and leaving with the child.
