Lemonade Day has been a part of the Amarillo community for a few years now. It's a great day that kids learn all about starting and running a business. What better way to learn than by opening up their own lemonade stand?

When life gives you lemons you make lemonade. Right? I mean one family did just that figuratively and well literally. Last week there was a big Lemonade Day Expo at the West Texas Enterprise Center.

Have you noticed as you drive around Amarillo that there have been some changes? We have had a lot of new restaurants move into Amarillo. We are big in wanting to try new places. Oh, Amarillo has stepped up.

It was about this time last year when the whole chicken sandwich war started. I think competition is good. The more good restaurants we get of any kind just gives us more choices and ups the battle for the best.

Restaurants in Amarillo have to have competitiveness to survive here in Amarillo. We have seen this in the countless number of places closing recently. It's great to see two competitor's encouraging each other in the spirit of the game.

This may be the best news my stomach has heard in years.

The time has come. These kids have been working hard. Learning what it takes to run a business.

Who isn't ready for a nice and tall glass of lemonade? Especially when that same glass of lemonade is helping teach so much to our kids.
