Texas is One of the Most Hardworking States in The Country
I don't know about you but I was raised to do my best, take pride in my work and work hard. If you follow those things, it can take you far in life. It seems that since I was born and raised in Texas, that was something that was taught to multiple generations.
When it comes to working in the state of Texas, you aren't alone when it comes to working hard. Texas is one of the hardest working states in the country.
WalletHub studied each state in the country to determine which state was the most hardworking in the country. The key factors studied include, average workweek hours to share of workers with multiple jobs to annual volunteer hours per resident.
Texas was ranked #7 among all the states studied in the US.
How Hard Does Texas Work? (1=Best, 25=Avg.)
- 4th – Avg. Workweek Hours
- 14th – Avg. Commute Time
- 26th – Employment Rate
- 8th – Avg. Leisure Time Spent per Day
Alaska ranked #1, while Michigan was last.
Oklahoma was ranked #11, while New Mexico was ranked #47.
One of the things I found shocking about the study is, 52% of American employees didn't use all of their vacation days. Most companies have a policy of use them or lose them when it comes to vacation day. If you have them use them because you earned that time off. Plus, it'll make you a better worker to have a break every now and then.
Work hard and take your vacation days and remember it is great to be a Texan!
