It is always great to have a day, week or even month to celebrate your heritage.  This month is Asian Pacific month and the Amarillo zoo is ready to celebrate!

Mark your calendars for May 18th because the Amarillo zoo has a huge celebration planned.  From 9:30 am to 3:00 pm the zoo will be filled with the sighs, sounds and tastes of the people, culture and animals of the Asian continent.

A few of the dance students from Eastridge elementary will be there to perform some Lao, Vietnamese, Dragon, Burmese, Karen and Karenni dances.  Visitors will be able to get up close with a 13-foot Burmese python and have a chance to sample edible insects like chocolate dipped mealworms.

There are several more events happening on this day and a lot of fun to be had!  If you want to take your children on an Asian Pacific fun filled day, May 18th is the day.  See ya at the zoo.
