The International Route 66 Festival came through Amarillo last Thursday - Saturday.  I gotta chance to hang out on Friday and got to see some awesome whips!

Take a look through my post and check out some of these amazing rides that I got to photograph. If you were there, then you know what I'm talking about. If you weren't then I did my best to takes some photos to show a great time on Historic Route 66 in Amarillo.

This line of old school cars caught my eye right off the bat!  Love that white one in the middle! The red Ford had amazing paint with super sweet wheels and the, but the white wagon had my attention immediately.

Old school Chevelle!  While old school Chevelles packed a lot more punch than this model, the paint and mag wheels really take you back. Classic cars are a true way to revisit good old fashioned American Muscle. Vroom Vroom these cars are mean and so nice!

This classic Ford truck  was definitely turning everyone's heads! Not only did it have some killer paint and super sweet wheels, but the interior was cherry. All custom and completely restored from the frame up. Amazing truck with true style.

Is there really something women like about a pick up man? There is something about these old school custom trucks that not only capture the eye, but capture the heart. They just don't make vehicles with this amount of style any more and I bet if I was driving this pick up truck the ladies would be all over me!

This car just says gangsta! Now that might be the look, it is not at all what this old Hot Rod is about and the folks driving it were the complete opposite! The amount of pride, time and money that goes into creating a vehicle like this is truly staggaring. I couldn't imagine spending more on a classic car than I would on a home.

Not sure exactly what kind of car this is as I caught this picture as this car was driving down the street. All I can say though is wow! Super sweet convertible with cherry paint that looked completely factory. To be able to own a car from the classic era and keep it in this kind of condition is a true example of how much these people love their cars.  Very nice!

I feel like watching Gran Torino, is that weird? This 1976 Gran Torino was super nice! Super cool mag wheels and custom paint made this Torino pop. I just love the long sleek body panels and custom purple paint on this car. Plus, these cars can really run!

Now that's my future car right there! Old school Camaro. The classic car era is not complete without some of these showroom hot rods. These cars came from the factory equipped and ready to run. Fast classic cars are every American guys dream and this was no exception.

This is a late 60's model fast back Mach 1 Mustang!  Talk about true muscle and a price tag to go with it. While when they rolled off the showroom floor they were priced between $4,000 and $6,000 (depending on which model you got) these cars are bringing over $80,000 in good restored condition these days. Wow, can you imagine actually driving this and only forking over 4 Grand?

It's hard to tell what this is, but I fell in love with this car! Check out how stout the stance is on those mag wheels with the flawless black paint. How often do you get to see a ride that looks like this? This was great festival and had 6th street hoppin'!

This truck is playa!  I don't care what anyone says. This thing is sweet. Had some great custom mag wheels and the paint just screamed "Check me out". These old school pick ups were not built for long and are real collectors items. Take a good look, because odds are, you won't see one of these just driving down the street anytime soon.

Yeah, I even saw a pimped out PT Cruiser! I would have been mad at myself if I didn't take a picture of this. At first glance it made me want to giggle, but after really checking this car out I was amazed. The interior was completely custom and had every option you could possibly imagine. I definitely could see this being the new KISS Kruzer.
