With The Economy In Trouble, Have You Ever Stolen From Your Job?

With the economy being the way it is, some people go to lengths they would never imagine.  How about stealing from your job?  According to a recent survey, two thirds of us have stolen from our workplace.

If you are thinking 'I'd never steal,' maybe you have and don't even know it.  Banner Business Services conducted a survey and found that two thirds of us steal office supplies all the time.  So much in fact, that it is costing companies $3.2 billion a year.

It is small things, but eventually add up to a lot.  Here is a list of the top 10 most stolen items.

1. Post It Notes
2. Tape
3. Scissors
4. Toilet Paper
5. Copier Paper
6. USB Memory Sticks
7. Notepads
8. Pens
9. Staplers
10. Highlighters

Ok so I'll admit I have taken a pen or two not knowing it, but toilet paper?  I have never even heard of stealing toilet paper much less it being the fourth most stolen item.

All of these items make sense, but I'd think envelopes would be on there.  No matter what is on the list, it is costing companies an insane amount of money each year and it is stealing.

So next time you are walking out of work and you have a few highlighters to take home to the kiddos remember you are stealing!!
