We all have those friends that always find trouble even when they aren't looking for it.  But how far would you go to help keep them out of trouble?

Growing up, my oldest sister always knew exactly what to tell me to get me to lie for her.  She had a way of saying things that made me believe it would be better for all of us.  It always came back to bite me.

No matter the situation, I always got busted lying.  My sister would usually rat me out so that she could get off a little easier.  It really sucked!  As an adult, I don't even try to lie.

Recently, I was asked by a very close friend if I could lie for her.  She tried to convince me that this was the best solution.  She has small children and she didn't want to have them taken from her.

As a mother, I completely felt for her.  I would hate to have my son taken from me.  So for a split second I considered it.  Then my sister popped into my head.  I knew that only bad things come from lies.  I sat down with my friend and told her that I would support her no matter what, but I would not lie.

If she was honest, then the right outcome would happen.  It was very hard to say no, but in the end I know I did the right thing.  Have you ever lied to help keep a friend out of trouble?
