This is one of the biggest events of the year and parents from around the Panhandle look forward to this every year. It's time for Kidsfest!

Unfortunately, Amarillo has a lot of families living below the poverty line. That means things like school supplies aren't always available to children. The City of Amarillo and Amarillo ISD want to help every child get what they need for their education at Kidsfest.

What is Kidsfest? It's an event where you can pick up free school supplies and they make it a point not to turn away any school-age child. There will be entertainment provided, from a quiet story time to an awesome drumline presentation. Community businesses and organizations will have giveaways for all of the families. The City of Amarillo will also be there with their mobile immunization bus!

For more information check-out www.amaisd.org/community/kidsfest. Children must be accompanied by adults for school supplies and there is a one-bag limit per child.

Kidsfest is Saturday, August 6, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. You can also add Kidsfest on Facebook.
