Amarillo Restaurant’s Best Desserts: Angel Dee’s Top 5
Anybody that knows me knows I have the biggest sweet tooth ever! I am the type of person who would rather have dessert instead of food. I would even go as far as calling myself an expert. So I took the hard job of going around Amarillo and finding the best restaurant desserts in town. Now they are not listed in any particular order because they are all delicious!
Cheddar's Casual Cafe: The Cookie Monster
The Cookie Monster is exactly what the name describes, a monstrous cookie baked fresh in a skillet. It is then topped with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, chopped nuts and a cherry on top. When the server brings this dessert out, you can't help but smile. It gives you a warm happy feeling. Yummy!
The Olive Garden's Zeppoli
Zeppoli is a simple dessert with an incredible flavor. Zeppoli are soft, traditional Italian doughnuts dusted with powdered sugar, served with chocolate sauce for dipping. The doughnut puffs kind of melt in your mouth and the powdered sugar is not your traditional powdered sugar. It is really fine and delicate. Of course, chocolate sauce compliments any dessert. Sometimes the simplest things are the best and Zeppoli proves that.
Jorge's Tacos Garcia's Ice Cream Burrito
When you hear Ice Cream Burrito, you really don't know what to expect. It is creamy cinnamon ice cream, wrapped it in a tastey flour tortilla and deep fried. It is then topped with whipped cream, cinnamon, sugar, hot fudge sauce and a cherry. Everyone who eats it has a different opinion on what it taste like. I say it tastes like a churro filled with cinnamon ice cream. But I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Jason's Deli Strawberry Shortcake
Jason's Deli isn't a formal restaurant, but their Strawberry Shortcake is too delicious to pass up. It is made up of luscious layers of moist pound cake, real whipped cream and fresh strawberries. It is like a little piece of heaven. It isn't overly sweet, but it sure is delicious!
Famous Daves' Hot Fudge Kahlua Brownie
There are no words to describe this dessert. The Hot Fudge Kahlua Brownie is a warm, walnut-covered chocolate brownie, soaked with Kahlúa liqueur and topped with vanilla bean ice cream, hot fudge, and whipped cream. The perfect dessert for anybody, especially chocolate lovers. This is something you want to make sure to leave room for!
