Thinking about kids always makes me happy.  They live so care free and innocent.  They have tiny voices and make everything cuter.  So does it make me a bad mom for laughing when toddlers cuss?

First off I'd like to say that I do not condone kids cursing.  I think you should teach them that some words aren't appropriate and shouldn't be used.  But sometimes you let a word slip and kids will naturally pick it up.

After having my son, I had to adjust the way I talked.  I had the worst sailor's mouth any woman could have.  It wasn't classy.  I have since changed the way I talk dramatically, but I am human and sometimes words slip out.

The other day my son was angry because we were cleaning his room and he informed me that making him get rid of toys was 'BS.'  But of course he didn't use the acronym.  Now my first reaction was 'what did you say,' followed by laughter.

He stormed off while I sat there giggling under my breath.  He is four and has never said anything like that before so it caught me off guard.  I will admit, though, this isn't the first time I laughed at a cursing kid. I have several nieces and nephews that cussed and made me laugh.

I don't know what it is about a cussing kid that I find humorous?  Maybe it is their innocence of not knowing what they said or the way their voice sounds spitting out these words, but it makes me laugh.

Does this make me a bad mom?  I know I'm not perfect, but I'm not the only one who uses this type of language.  I can't shield my son from every horrible thing coming out of people's mouths.

What are your thoughts?
