Ok Amarillo, I see you. You've heard our cries, you've heard our pleas, and now you are reacting. Love ya for it.

We talked about how we needed to see an uptick in donations on Wednesday because the first couple of days were a bit slow, and you definitely showed up.

It came in waves yesterday. We'd get 3-4 cars pulling up at a time, then we'd go for a bit before seeing more. However, the items that came through and the amount of people we saw far outweighed Monday and Tuesday combined.

Now, it's Thursday. This is the day you have ALWAYS started to show up in droves. A relatively steady stream of cars is what we've experienced on past Thursdays, and we need it again without a doubt.

Quick story for those who may not have heard me mention it. On Tuesday, a mom and daughter showed up with two huge bags of travel sized toiletries.

The girl must've been no more than 11 or 12 years old. Mom was telling us that her daughter had been collecting these items for quite awhile now. She had a plan with them.

She was going to start distributing them to the homeless community here in Amarillo so they had something they could clean themselves up with and feel fresh amidst their situation.

When they heard about Help 4 The Holidays, she decided this would be the right place to bring them. She was right. We deal with a nonprofit who asks for that type of stuff for pretty much the same reason she was collecting them, for the homeless community.

If a child that young has the heart and drive to want to help the homeless community here, we should ALL find it in our hearts to want to help those in need. There's more people that need it this year over last, and it's time for all of us to step up.

Day 4 is officially rolling, so please let us see your smiling and generous faces today at Mayco Center.
