Day 5 Solid, But We’re Pacing Behind At Help 4 The Holidays
That was a pretty fun day. Friday started off a bit slow, but you started to turnout and turn up Amarillo.
We saw small donations, we saw big donations. It definitely helped make a little dent in the list for us, but there is one thing I will tell you.
We aren't quite home yet. In fact, we're still pacing behind last year and in a more challenging year than 2023, we've got a bit of a mountain we need to climb up.
Peering in at day 6, we've got quite a few things we are severely behind on. Craft supplies definitely top the list without question. You can find SO MANY craft things at the dollar stores around town. If we got 50 people to spend just $10 on craft supplies there, man it could do some damage.
Kids clothing is also lagging behind. Now, there are specific sizes and items we need when it comes to that, and they must be new with tags. The list of sizes and items can be found on the master list.
Now, just because we're lagging a bit behind in those two departments doesn't mean it's the ONLY areas we need to be collecting in. The entire list is a bit behind pace, so we need to drag in as much as we possibly can on this Saturday.
Time is running out on us, and we HAVE to deliver. Not because there's pressure from anyone to do it, but it's a pressure and responsibility we put on ourselves when we do this. We relish the chance to be able to help those in need.
We've all been there before. Remember when you first moved out on your own? Or maybe when you graduated from college? It wasn't easy was it. Ramen was your best friend and you just looked for ways to dress it up. You did that because you wouldn't have a rood over your head if you were grilling steaks.
So yeah, we all know what it's like to struggle. Let's try and help putting the struggles to an end for those going through it right now. It's the least we can do.
See you later on today...I hope.
